APPEAL TO THE PARTIES INVOLVED IN THE ELECTORAL PROCESS

Georgian Young Lawyers' Association started monitoring of the pre-election period of the presidential election on August 1. GYLA monitors the pre-election processes in Tbilisi, Adjara, Guria, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Shida Kartli, Kvemo Qartli, Mtskheta-Mtianeti and Kakheti with the help of its central and eight regional offices.

With the view to facilitating fair and free elections, the organization has been actively involved in the monitoring process of legislative, executive and local government elections since the day of its establishment. The observation mission includes monitoring of pre-election processes, as well as polling day and post-election procedures. Any violations identified during the monitoring will be reflected in a report prepared by GYLA to be presented to local and international society.

As the Association believes in the supremacy of the principles of fair and free elections, its activities are constantly directed to adhere to the neutrality of political processes. Over the years, GYLA has proved its commitment to the principles of the rule of law and the legal state and aspiration to develop a fair election environment.

For the purpose of ensuring timely identification and legal response to any violations during the pre-election period, we are offering you to cooperate in order not to leave any potential violations of the law without a proper response. Therefore, we deem exchanging of information important. In the event of having timely and confirmed information, GYLA will have the opportunity to give relevant legal assessment and provide qualified consultation to every person.

We believe that the cooperation will improve the democracy and fairness of the electoral environment, which falls within the interests of all subjects who wish to see free and fair elections in Georgia.

In order to cooperate with parties involved in the elections and exchange information, in the current month, GYLA is holding network meetings and inviting you to attend them: in Tbilisi, Batumi, Zugdidi, Ozurgeti, Kutaisi, Gori, Akhaltsikhe, Rustavi, Dusheti and Telavi.
