GYLA Observes Repeat Elections on June 29

Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association is observing the June 15, 2014 Local Self-Government’s Repeat Elections. 
 
The observers of the organization observe the repeat elections at the precincts #25 and 57 of the Marneuli district, at the precincts #4, #6, #47 and #52 of the Dusheti district, precinct #1 of the Akhalkalaki district, precinct #22 of the Khoni district, precincts #2 and #5 of the Tkibuli district, precinct #32 of the Zugdidi district, precinct #103 of the Batumi district, as well as the precinct #34 of the Kobuleti district.
 
GYLA hopes that the elections will be conducted in a peaceful environment and that the will expressed by voters will be adequately reflected in the summary protocols of the elections.
 
It should be noted that the elections are conducted on 14 precincts; on the 6 of those precincts the repeat elections are being conducted due to GYLA’s complaints that were upheld. 
On the election day the special hotline operates in GYLA, which gives the citizens a possibility to receive the legal consultations on the election day procedures.

In addition, on the election day the hotline for journalists and media organizations operates in GYLA. By calling the number 230-61- 63 the journalists and media organizations have a possibility of receiving an information interesting to them and the legal consultation on the electoral procedures, election day violations and the ways to respond to them; they also have an opportunity to inform us of the violations that they have identified on the election day.  
 
GYLA will hold the press-conference on the election day processes at 21:00 in the NGO Media Center (address: Chavchavadze avenue 23). On June 30, at 11:00 GYLA will evaluate the vote count processes.
