On December 13, at conference room of the Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association, GYLA Chairperson Tamar Chugoshvili and group of media-experts headed by Lasha Tugushi held briefing concerning current issues in media.

Issues related to media-transparency were of particular concern during 2010. Therefore, the Parliament of Georgia started working to implement changes in media ownership transparency.

GYLA and the group of media-experts welcome the fact, although they consider that the Parliament shall not limit scope of the work only by ownership transparency issues but also implement relevant changes for ensuring financial transparency of broadcasters.

At the press conference GYLA Chairperson and experts thoroughly discussed measures to be undertaken for ensuring high standard of media transparency.
The briefing will be held in frames of the human rights week organized by GYLA.
