GYLA’s proposals about OGP 2016-2017 Action Plan

In December 2015, term of effect of Georgia’s Second Action Plan 2014-2015 for the Open Government Partnership (OGP) expired. Regrettably, Georgia could not fulfill the following two important obligations in the OGP 2014-2015 Action Plan: drafting the freedom of information act (FOIA) and creating a web-portal of electronic petitions “Ichange.ge”. Nevertheless, in 2016 the Government plans to adopt third OGP Action Plan 2016-2017 for Georgia. Therefore, it is important for the new action plan to reflect the obligations that are responsive to OGP’s most crucial principles – transparency, accountability, civic engagement and technologies & innovations.

On March 14, 2016, Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association formally communicated its opinions to the OGP Georgia Secretary about issues that Georgia OGP Action Plan 2016-2017 should reflect.

The enclosed file provides GYLA’s proposals about new obligations that should be included in Georgia’s OGP Action Plan for 2016-2017.
