GYLA Celebrating the 2013 International Youth Day: Youth Migration

On August 12, 2013, Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association held a meeting with local non-governmental organizations and population in its Gori Office to mark the International Youth Day celebrated under the theme of youth migration. During the meeting project Promoting Well Managed Migration between EU and Georgia was also presented. 

 
The project, funded by EU and jointly implemented by GYLA and the Caucasus Institute for Peace, Democracy and Development, focuses on four particular objectives: fostering the links between migration and development; contributing to the develoepment of migration policy and legislation; combating illegal migration and trafficking; protecting rights of migrants.  
 
The meeting participants also received information about researches prepared in frames of the project. Researches focus on the current status of migration control and migration policy development in Georgia, analyzing migration strategy of Georgia 2013-2015, migration laws, means to combat illegal migration, collection of migration statistics and issues pertinent to readmission of citizens of Georgia.
